System Requirements
Windows
Section titled “Windows”Rayscaper for SketchUp has the following requirements on Windows:
- SketchUp 2024, 2025 or 2026. Two features need SketchUp 2025 or newer, because SketchUp 2024 doesn’t have them: using the SketchUp environment as HDRI and converting SketchUp’s own PBR materials.
- 64-bit Windows version.
- Minimum of 4GB RAM.
- The SketchUcation Tools extension, to activate a license.
- Minimum of 4 physical CPU cores. Rayscaper renders on the CPU by default; the more physical cores, the faster it renders.
GPU rendering
Section titled “GPU rendering”GPU rendering is optional and off by default. It needs an NVIDIA GPU with compute capability 5.0 or higher (GeForce GTX 900 series and newer). On RTX GPUs, Rayscaper uses hardware ray tracing. You can check your GPU on the NVIDIA compute capability page.
To turn it on, open File > Settings… in the Rayscaper window and tick Use GPU Rendering under GPU Rendering. If you have more than one GPU, you can choose which ones Rayscaper uses. Click Save changes to apply.
Rayscaper is not yet supported on macOS. It is planned, see the Roadmap.
